Tool time

By John Kurtz

From a 2006 letter to Tom Freston and Leslie Moonves, then co-presidents and co-chief operating officers of Viacom, from John Kurtz, executive vice president of the International Staple, Nail and Tool Association. “Nailed,” an episode of _CSI: Miami _that aired in the fall of 2005 on Viacom-owned CBS, portrayed attacks committed with a cordless power nailer and featured a scene in which a police investigator, using such a tool to fire nails at a target, dons a pair of safety glasses and says, “Yeah, like these things are going to stop a nail.”
